Physical Therapy (PT) is a treatment provided by a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) that focuses on empowering individuals to improve their movement and physical function, manage pain, and recover from or prevent injury and chronic disease.
Physical Therapists examine, diagnose, and treat movement dysfunction. Our primary focus is on the body's mechanics—specifically the bones, joints, muscles, and nerves.
An episode of care begins with a thorough evaluation to investigate the root cause of an issue. We then provide interventions, including therapeutic exercises, assistive devices, and patient education, all based on evidence-based research. The ultimate goal is to empower you with the tools to care for yourself and meet your health goals, allowing you to prevent movement loss and promote long-term wellness.

In the state of Minnesota, you have Direct Access to physical therapy. This means you can begin treatment with me immediately without waiting for a physician's referral.
Continuing Care: If your therapy extends beyond 90 days, you will need a referral from your physician to continue treatment. I will gladly assist you in obtaining this order when the time comes.
Safety First: If, at any point during your care, your medical condition is beyond the scope of a physical therapist, I will immediately refer you to the appropriate licensed healthcare professional.
You can start investing in your health and movement today, without delay!
I bring expert care directly to homes in Prior Lake and the surrounding South Metro area. If you are outside of this radius, please reach out—I travel further for additional travel fee.
By law, I cannot provide cash-pay Physical Therapy (PT) services to individuals with Medicare insurance.
As a Physical Therapist, I am legally unable to opt out of Medicare, unlike some other providers (such as physicians). Medicare beneficiaries must receive medically necessary PT from a participating Medicare provider. However, there are exceptions, so lets discuss your situation.
While I cannot provide traditional PT, I am committed to your success. We will begin with an assessment to determine if you qualify for my other highly specialized services:
Medical Fitness Services: Providing ongoing maintenance, strength, balance, and advanced functional training where Medicare-covered PT must end.
Specialized Compassionate Caregiving Services: Offering skilled assistance with transfers, ambulation, and safety, as well as community reintegration.
I will also gladly recommend appropriate Medicare-covered PT services if that is determined to be the most appropriate first step in your care.
I strongly encourage you to take full advantage of your Medicare coverage for skilled PT services through:
Medicare Home Health: This is often a free service that provides skilled PT, nursing, OT, and other services for individuals who are certified as home-bound and require a skilled need.
Outpatient Therapy: This typically involves a copay and provides skilled, medically necessary PT, at a frequency determined by your therapist.
Movement Matters Health is a mobile practice, meaning I always come to you. Our goal is to make therapy as convenient and functional as possible by meeting you where you live and engage in your daily life.
Your therapy location is always flexible and client-driven:
Your Home or Residence: This is the most common and effective location, as we can practice tasks exactly where you perform them.
Community Locations: We can meet in local parks, stores, or other community spaces to work on real-world goals.
Senior Housing: I am able to provide care in assisted living facilities or senior apartment buildings. Please Note: due to regulations, I am unable to provide care in a licensed nursing home facility.
Health Clubs: Meeting in a health club may be an option, provided we comply with the facility's specific rules for outside providers.
Don't worry! I am used to working in all kinds of environments. Whether you have a large living room or a small apartment, we use the space you actually live in. That is the beauty of home-based therapy—it’s functional and relevant to your real life.
Traditional therapy often isolates a single body part in a gym setting. My approach is holistic, neurological, and home-based. I don't just look at a joint; I look at your personal history and how you function in the space where your life actually happens.
Why this matters for you:
A Residency-Trained Eye: With 25 years of experience and a Residency in Neurology, I spot the subtle connections between complex symptoms that others often miss.
Environmental Integration: Instead of "office exercises," we use your actual kitchen, stairs, and neighborhood. This makes your progress realistic and sustainable.
Unrestricted Care: Because I am not constrained by insurance mandates, I am free to address what actually matters to your safety and dignity. Whether it’s mastering a "non-traditional" task like taking you to the grocery store or coordinating with your family, I am there to solve the real hurdles in your day.
Movement Matters Health is a "direct pay" practice and does not participate in any insurance programs.
While this means we don't bill your insurance, it is a deliberate choice that guarantees you receive the highest quality of care. By operating outside the insurance system, your treatment plan is based purely on your needs and goals, not on what an insurance company dictates or pays for.
This model ensures your sessions are 100% focused on you, without the time constraints, restrictive rules, and excessive documentation requirements of traditional in-network physical therapy.
Transparency: You will always know the cost upfront—no surprise bills months later.
Superbills: I am not currently providing
HSA/FSA: I do not accept Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account payments.
